Computing at St Peter’s

At St Peter’s, we follow the National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) Scheme of Learning to deliver a high-quality computing curriculum from EYFS through to Year 6. Our approach is built on a clear pedagogy that combines computational thinking, creativity, and digital literacy.

In EYFS, children begin by exploring technology in their everyday environment and developing early problem-solving skills through play-based activities. As pupils move through KS1, they learn the fundamentals of coding, sequencing, and logical reasoning, alongside understanding how to use technology safely. By KS2, children progress to more complex programming concepts, data handling, and multimedia projects, while deepening their understanding of networks and online safety.

Our curriculum is designed to be progressive and sequenced, ensuring that skills and knowledge build year on year. We aim to equip pupils with the confidence and competence to use technology creatively and responsibly, preparing them for the digital world.
