Welcome to the Dunlin Class of 2024-2025
Welcome to Dunlins, our fantastic Year 4 class! As a class we will flourish together and support all of the children to become the best they can be. Our year will be full of fun, and lots of amazing learning opportunities.

PE
The class will be swimming Tuesday mornings until Easter. We will have a PE lesson on Wednesday afternoons with Mrs Biggs.
Times Tables
In Year 4, the children complete a national standardised Times Tables Test. We will be doing lots of practice in class to develop our skills and knowledge further. All children will be provided with a times tables keyring to take home. We ask that your child access Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) at least 3 times per week to further develop their confidence.
Homework
Your child will receive new spellings to practice at home, following on from our spellings sessions in school. Children have two weeks to practice their spellings with their chosen strategies, and also to put them into some super sentences! We expect their homework to be presented in the same fantastic way as our school exercise books, and to be returned on time.
Your child will also be receiving times tables homework to complete, with the same two week window. This will cover a range of times tables, up to and including the 12 times table, and should be completed in their homework books.
Reading
In Dunlins we strive to create a love for reading in all of our children, and provide time each day to enjoy reading in class. Your child will have an Accelerated Reader and library book. We expect the children to be reading at least 3 times per week at home, both independently and aloud.
